The Art of Flowers at Sudeley Castle - May 2024
In May 2024, I had the honour of being commissioned to curate and manage The Art of Flowers, a week-long exhibition and performance series held at St Mary’s Chapel, Sudeley Castle and Gardens. This unique event featured:
Floral artworks by award-winning artist Anna Masters, celebrating the history and landscape of Sudeley Castle.
Original music, poetry, and performances that were enriched by the historic setting of St Mary’s Chapel, creating a meaningful dialogue between history, nature and the arts.
Programme Highlights
Daily performances by exceptional musicians including solo violin, early music ensembles, harp and voice and the theatrical Periscope Ensemble.
The Winchcombe Poets read daily from their new anthology entitled, BEYOND
My own contribution to the programme included Haiku workshops with visitors as well as original poetry, such as Abraham D’Arby, exploring themes of beauty, transformation, and emotional connection to the natural world.
This collaboration between Sudeley Castle, local poets and musicians, Les Galeries Bartoux and artist Anna Masters resulted in an unforgettable celebration of flowers, art, history and music presented to Sudeley visitors of all ages.
